Clothos, a 2-year-old gray Bergamasco, placed the ball gently on the arm of Jimmy’s wheelchair. Jimmy sat still, without expression.
The young high school student had multiple disabilities, leaving him wheelchair-bound, nonverbal, and unable to move his hands easily. Clothos took a few steps away and waited … and waited.
“Clothos would wait for an hour!” recalls Donna D. of Pennsylvania, founder of the Bergamasco Sheepdog Club of America and a breeder for 16 years, who works with schoolchildren with disabilities.
