The Royal Family of Cambridge is growing again.

No, it’s not another heir to the thrown but an adorable new hamster that is getting as much media attention as his new family’s comings and goings.

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, previously known as Kate Middleton, shared the news Wednesday while attending the opening of the Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace in Greater London according to Hello Magazine. She reportedly mentioned Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s new furry friend to some children at the opening of the park, when talking about the two guinea pigs — Salt and Pepper — she had as a child.

Marvin the hamster is said to be the young royal family’s second pet; they already have a black Cocker Spaniel named Lupo.

A 9-year-old schoolgirl who attended the garden opening reportedly told the media present that Princess Kate said “Charlotte really likes [Marvin] because the whiskers always tickle her face.”
