Jurassic World Meme Includes Small Animals Too

If you’re ready to smile, check out some of the photos zookeepers and others are taking with animals to imitate a scene from Jurassic World.

If you haven’t heard of a little movie called Jurassic World, you might be living in an alternate universe. The fourth movie in the Jurassic series that began with Steven Spielberg in 1993, Jurassic World shattered box office records this past weekend when it opened.

Jurassic World brings back dinosaurs in a big way. And yes, those pesky velociraptors are back. This time, however, one of the movie’s lead characters has been training them. Actor Chris Pratt plays Owen Grady, and his training is put to the test in a scene early in the film. A scene that has inspired zookeepers and others across the world to take on the Owen Grady role with various animals playing (unbeknownst to them) the roles of the velociraptors.

There are pictures featuring various birds, reptiles and large mammals (the rhino and tiger ones are awesome), but at SmallAnimalChannel we like to focus on the small furry friends. Although most are not usually pets (except for the Flemish Giant rabbits. Go, Flemish Giants!), they all do a great job representing “the little guys.” Maybe you will be inspired to take a photo with your pets. Enjoy!

Flemish Giant rabbits are big, but they are friendly. A rabbit that could give velociraptors a challenge is the fictional Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog from the movie Monty Python And The Holy Grail!

Opossum? Yes, I can see those being scary. I can also see them being cute!

The capybara is the largest rodent in the world. Large? Yes. Intimidating? Not so much. People do keep these as pets

Jurassic Pigs? Well, if the warthog fits…

Hmm. Red pandas, like rabbits, might be too adorable to pull off playing velociraptors.

The marsupial quokkas are representing for Australia. Yup, yet another animal more cute than scary.

It’s a good thing there weren’t this many velociraptors facing down Owen!
