There are Take the Lead charity fundraisers this July in Centralia, Wash., Waukesha, Wis., and Greenville, S.C., including Beach Blanket Bingo, a barbecue, ice cream social, raffles and a reception.
July 12-13, Centralia, Wash. The Take the Lead Summer Splash II will take place Friday, July 12, 2013, and Saturday, July 13, 2013, in Centralia, Wash. The fundraising event, which will include Beach Blanket Bingo and a barbecue, will be hosted by the Mt. Rainier Working Dog Club and Timberland Valley Dog Fanciers. The fundraising event coincides with the the Mt. Rainier Working Dog Club’s 2013 Working Group Specialty Shows (July 11 and 12) and Timberland Valley Dog Fanciers Association All Breed Shows and Obedience Trials (July 13 and 14). For a $20 donation, attendees will get 10 Bingo cards and a barbecue dinner. For $10, attendees can get the barbecue dinner only. An ice cream social will take place July 11.
July 27, Waukesha, Wis. On Saturday, July 27, 2013, the Waukesha Kennel Club will host “Gone to the Dogs Day of Summer,” an ice cream social and raffle. The fundraising event will be held at the Waukesha County Fairground in Waukesha, Wis., and will coincide with the club’s annual dog show. The ice cream social begins a half hour before Group judging, and the raffle beings at 9 a.m. on the midway and closes before the last Group of the day. Raffle prizes include a weekend for two at the Grand Hotel on Macinac Island, Mich., four Green Bay Packers preseason tickets, raffle baskets, a Delores Burkholder statue and more. Raffle winners will be announced in the Group ring prior to Best in Show.
July 26-27, Greenville, S.C. In addition to the Carolina Foothills Cluster in Greenville, S.C., from July 26 to 28, 2013, the Greenville Kennel Club, Spartanburg Kennel Club and Hendersonville Kennel Club will host a raffle and reception to benefit the Take the Lead charity. The raffle will take place both Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27. The reception will begin immediately after Best in Show on Saturday, and will include music and hors d’oeurves. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased at the show.
