Josh Lucas says you have to look no further than Salma Hayek’s dogs to know the actress will be a great mom to new baby Valentina.
“The way she is with her dogs, I can’t even imagine what she’ll be like with her kid,” the actor and Hayek’s ex-boyfriend told People. “She will be a doting and loving mother.”
Lucas, who dated Hayek in 2004, says he learned Hayek had given birth to the baby girl, whose father is Hayek’s fiancé Francois Henri-Pinault, when she sent him a text message.
It’s no wonder Hayek adores her dogs. She credits one named Diva with saving her life.
The actress told US Magazine in January that she “had a headache and went to lie down” on the day of the Golden Globe Awards and was awakened from her nap by mutt Diva grabbing at her sleeve and trying to pull her out of the house. The actress said she then realized the gas was on in her Los Angeles home. “I wouldn’t be here if Diva hadn’t woken me up,” said Hayek at the time.
Valentina is Hayek’s first child, and Pinault has two children from a previous marriage that ended in 2004.
