Jorge Garcia’s Dog Killed in Hawaii

The "Lost” actor’s beloved Chihuahua, Nunu, was struck by a car.

Jorge Garcia must be feeling especially lost this week. Last Monday, the “Lost” actor told fans his beloved Chihuahua Nunu had been struck and killed by a car in Hawaii over the weekend.

“It breaks my heart to tell you that yesterday as we were preparing to all go to the airport Nunu was struck by a car as she crossed the street,” Garcia wrote on his blog, Dispatches from the Island. “She died in my arms.”

Garcia bought Nunu in 2005 after a chance visit to a Ewa Beach, Hawaii pet shop. She was a frequent topic on Garcia’s blog, where the actor posted about her frequent exploits chewing on toys and other things, including Garcia’s nose.

“We are burying her in the Pet Garden at Valley of the Temple in Kaneohe,” wrote Garcia, who played Hugo/Hurley on the long-running series, which recently ended. “Nunu hated the water so we couldn’t bring ourselves to having her ashes scattered in the ocean. Three months from now you’ll be able to find a bronze plaque inscribed with just her name there. If you’d like to leave a flower or a toy, I’m sure she’d love it.”
