Interested in giving your dog some homemade beefy carrot stix? Or how about some organic chicken jerky? If you are, and you live in the Seattle, Washington, area, you might want to go check out The Seattle Barkery, a new food truck that caters to dogs.
At The Seattle Barkery, your four-legged friend can also partake in some beefy carrot bagels, a peanut butter and banana bone or even a hound dog cake.
Ben and Dawn Ford started The Seattle Barkery after years of being professional dog walkers, according to Komo News. Dawn was baking homemade dog treats, and the treats became so popular that they decided to take their baked goods mobile, selling their peanut butter pumpkin pretzels, chicken feet, turkey patties and other doggie delights at local dog parks across the city.
The Fords also serve up some human treats, such as coffee and pastries. And they just started offering treats for cats due to customer demand.
The couple announce where their truck will be at on social media, just like the food trucks for people.
“Overall everyone is really, really excited about it,” Dawn told Komo News about the new food truck for dogs venture. “Everyone knows a dog and loves a dog.”
The truck’s best seller? A bacon “pupcake” that features a piece of bacon on top of the icing on the cake.
And best of all, any tips that are given benefit the Old Dog Haven, a non-profit that helps senior pets in the twilight of their lives.
