How to Grow Cat Grass

Treat your cat to a bit of the outdoors with a small patch of home-grown grass.

Cat eating grassCats love to nibble on grass, and home-grown grass is especially nice for indoor or city cats that never have the opportunity to eat fresh grass. To grow your own wheat cat grass:

1. Purchase wheat-berry grains at a health food market. They can be purchased in bulk and stored for up to one year in a dry, cool, dark place.

2. Sprinkle the grains over a quality, rich soil and place in a sunny window.

3. Water or mist the grains lightly each day. Soon your seeds will sprout and develop into grass shoots.
