Remember when the Internet got into a verbal scuffle over how dogs should wear pants? Well, there’s finally an answer.
Dog apparel company Muddy Mutts sells outdoor pants for dogs that go on ALL FOUR LEGS. Yep, that’s right. Those of us who thought, Duh, dogs wear pants on their back two legs, felt so smug, didn’t we? Yes, I was one of them.
Not anymore, because these pants are real, are available for purchase and actually make sense when you think about it. By covering all four legs, the pants help protect your pup from puddles, mud and all kinds of gross, dirty things they love to get into.
The waders come in six sizes, are waterproof and machine-washable and allow dogs of both genders to freely go potty without making a mess. They also have a reflective strip on the bottom cuffs for nighttime safety.
Since that cartoon drawing of dogs in pants went viral, the Canadian company has seen a 2,800 percent increase in sales, owner Tim Skelly told CNN, presumably because people are Googling “dog pants” a lot these days.
And it’s important to note that Muddy Mutts aren’t new. The company released its third generation of dog wear back in 2012.
So even though the cartoon got us thinking about which way makes the most sense, Muddy Mutts has been here all along, waiting to shut the debate right down, while also keeping our pups warm and dry.
