Which hamster will take first place?

Forget about the World Series, Super Bowl, NBA Finals and the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The only sports competition of the year worth watching is the Hamster Agility Course. Instead of a team of players battling for the season’s final victory, two well-trained hamsters — both of whom have amazing athletic ability and exquisite concentration and determination — are going head to head for the gold medal in this agility course competition (which, in case you didn’t know, only accepts the hamsters with supreme skill… and whose handlers allow them to compete). Dumptruck and Porkchop were this year’s chosen athletes at the April’s Animals-sponsored event.

The contestants were asked to complete a course that consisted of hurdles, a seesaw, hoops, a hamster walk and weaving poles. Credit goes to Alexander Campbell and David Benedict Brown for the construction of the course; hamsters who have competed in these gentlemen’s course always show deep respect. The rules? The hamster who completes the course in the least amount of time — without penalties — wins. Legendary announcer Shon Simpkins offered commentary in a voice that is quite reminiscent of actor Morgan Freeman (perhaps Freeman is actually a huge hamster athlete fanatic and asked to do the announcing).
