Grab a cup of cocoa. Have a seat. Settle in. Because this is the hilariously juicy tale about a guy who accidentally kidnapped his neighbor’s cat.

In a series of tweets shared on Twitter by @NZClarke, user Clarke Gayford shares the story of a friend who spent $130 at the vet on treatment for his cat, then had to keep the cat in his bedroom for five days to recover, and then his actual cat walked into the house.

Wait. Whaaaaaaa?

The guy’s neighbor even knocked on his door to report her missing cat, and he told her it was just his black cat in the house.

The plot thickens!

Then he apparently realized the cat in his house was a boy, even though his cat is a girl. And part of the treatment at the vet was prescribing anti-anxiety meds because the guy said his cat had been acting “weird.”

So when his actual cat strolled in, he realized the massive mixup. Luckily, the neighbor has since sent him a message letting him know that her cat is doing OK post-kidnapping and unnecessary medicating.

Whew! What an ordeal. I need a nap.
