Gavin Rossdale and his wife Gwen Stefani are hoping to get a dog soon, the British rocker reveals to the Las Vegas Sun.
The former Bush front man says the couple is looking for a “really big, friendly, smart dog” to add to their family, which includes sons Kingston, 2, and Zuma, 7 months.
“I had one, like, very famous dog, Winston, during my Bush years,” Rossdale says.
The rocker and Stefani were often photographed with the now-deceased Winston, a Puli who appeared in the couple’s 2002 wedding party.
In the meantime, Rossdale is happy to help raise money to support homeless pets. He appeared Saturday at Las Vegas’s annual Pet-A-Palooza, which drew an estimated 15,000 people and 4,000 dogs.
“I wouldn’t do it for cats,” he joked.
The event raised money for the Nevada SPCA and other animal welfare organizations.
Rossdale’s first solo album, “Wanderlust,” hit stores last year. Featuring the singles “The Love Remains the Same” and “Forever May You Run,” the album peaked at number 33 on the Billboard 200.
