Gallery Opening

New gallery features bird art and educational resources

Laughing Parrot GalleryThe editor of “Companion Parrot Quarterly,” Sally Blanchard, recently opened The Laughing Parrot Gallery & Avian Education Center in Loveland, Colorado. The center’s museum contains a collection of bird art, sculpture and crafts representing nearly 800 species of birds, and the gallery includes paintings, drawings and sculptures of bird artists from throughout the world, including Blanchard’s pieces.

“I have studied [birds], observed them, sculpted them, written about them, given lectures about them, collected bird-related art and enjoyed them in my life,” said Blanchard. “The Laughing Parrot Gallery gives me a personal opportunity to share my knowledge and my passion for birds.”

The library is open to all those interested in researching birds and wildlife. It contains more than 3,000 books, magazines and other publications.
