Saving Animals Across Borders announced on June 7, 2007, the launch of Spay New Mexico, a program that offers free spay and neuter procedures for dogs and cats from income-qualified families (recipients of need-based government assistance). The state of New Mexico supported the program and provided $400,000, addressing the crisis of dog and cat overpopulation.
For approved applicants, Banfield, The Pet Hospital, Santa Fe Animal Shelter, and the Humane Society’s mobile clinic will be performing the free spay or neuter surgeries.
To apply for a free spay or neuter surgery for your dog or cat, or to learn more about the program, call (800) 248-SPAY, or visit Saving Animals Across Borders’ website at www.savinganimals.org.
