Free Kibble for Dogs in Need

Wellness Natural Pet Food donates meals to a half million shelter dogs.

Animal shelters and rescue organizations across the United States welcomed a donation of 120 tons of dog food from Wellness Natural Pet Food to help during the economic crisis.

WellPet Foundation, the charitable organization of the pet food company, gave what amounts to one bowl of kibble to a half million dogs, from puppies to seniors. The gift was made during a time when many animal shelters are reporting challenges in providing enough food and proper nutrition for the dogs being left in their care.

Donations of Wellness Super5Mix Large Breed Puppy Health, Wellness Super5Mix Large Breed Adult Health, and Wellness Super5Mix Small Breed Adult Health were made to the following shelters:

  • Blue Lion Animal Rescue of Yoder, Colo.
  • DAWGS N Texas animal sanctuary in Dalhart, Texas
  • West Valley Animal Shelter in West Valley, Utah
  • Homeward Bound Shelter of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
  • Animal Rescue Food Bank Inc., of Wellsville, Pa.
  • Aspen Best Friends Animal Sanctuary of Kanab, Utah
  • National Greyhound Adoption Program of Philadelphia, Pa.

John Polis, spokesman at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, said the more than 400 residents of DogTown are enjoying the donated food. “With so many dogs to take care of here at our sanctuary, we are especially grateful for the kindness shown by Wellness in contributing to the health needs of our animals,” he said.
