Former Bond Girl Britt Ekland, who wowed a generation of male moviegoers in 1974’s “Man With a Golden Gun,” says she’s done dating men. Her new favorite companion? Her dog, a Chihuahua named Tequila.
“He goes everywhere with me. We have been seeing each other for five years now,” laughs Ekland, in an interview with the British newspaper the Daily Express.
The 65-year-old Swedish actress, who is divorced from comedian Peter Sellers, explains that dogs offer more affection than men.
“Pet dogs are better than men. They don’t just ask for affection, they give it, too,” she says.
Regarding her unsuccessful relationships, Ekland, who was portrayed by Charlize Theron in “The Life and Death of Peter Sellers,” says she was always too nice.
“I treated them all like kings and in return they turned me into some sort of servant girl. I understand why Kate Moss wants to hang out with rock stars. I was like that [Ekland had a long romance with singer Rod Stewart], but you soon realize they are very selfish,” she adds.
