The Pueblo Fire Department in Colorado used a special miniature oxygen mask to revive a dog that officers had to rescue from a house fire. The department tweeted a touching photo of the dog being resuscitated as one uniformed firefighter kept a comforting hand on her back.
“Taken this morning at a fire,” the tweet read. “Keeping our community and furry friends safe.”
In 2009, the Southern Colorado Kennel Club donated 10 tiny pet resuscitation kits to the fire department, which were distributed among the city’s fire stations.
According to 9News in Denver, the dog pictured in Thursday’s tweet — and the others rescued from the early morning blaze — were turned over to Pikes Peak Animal Control.
