Find the fun, and snap, the job’s a game!
Just when you think you can’t face the drudgery of sweeping the floor, along comes a ferret to brighten the day. He might not be able to make you whistle while you work, but he’s sure to make you chuckle.
Of course, the amount of sweeping being done gets drastically slowed down with the arrival of the ferret, but is that such a bad thing? Isn’t it better to have fun doing a task than to do it quickly and probably with little thought? You have to admit that having a ferret chase and bite at a broom would make you really concentrate and think about the task, rather than doing it mindlessly. Who wants to be mindless?
And I would love to know what the ferret is thinking during all of this. Does he see this bristly broom as some strangely shaped ferret who needs to be shown the ropes? Does he see it as an extension of his owner? Does he think it’s a new toy that arrived just for him? Or, could he possibly sense that his owner really would like a lively distraction to the boring task of sweeping? If only ferrets could talk!
