Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair makes a cameo in this year’s Barney Cam, the light-hearted holiday video that stars Barney, President George W. Bush’s Scottish Terrier.
In this year’s video, which can be seen on the White House website, Barney and his fellow Scottish Terrier Miss Beazley aspire to become junior park rangers and scamper around the White House as the staff decorates it for Christmas.
Blair appears in the dogs’ dreams, congratulating them on their new role.
“Well done,” says Blair. “As someone born in Edinburgh, Scotland, it’s always good to see the Scots doing well,” he says.
President Bush appears in the video, as does First Lady Laura Bush. The First Lady is seen reading the dogs a book about park rangers. The couple’s daughters, Jenna and Barbara, also make short cameos.
This is Blair’s second comedic turn in front of American audiences. In 2003, he played himself on an episode of “The Simpsons,” greeting Homer and Marge on a trip to London.
