Even Without Feathers This Lovebird Is All Kinds Of Adorable

Don't worry; this naked birdie stays warm with sweaters.

Rhea is probably the cutest featherless bird you’ve ever seen. This lovebird is “naked” due to a condition called psittacine beak and feather disease (PBFD), a viral disease that infects and kills feather and beak cells.

Despite her condition, Rhea seems happy with her human, Isabella Eisenmann, who adopted her from her veterinarian.

“They called me and told me that I was first on the list and they wanted me to keep her,” Eisenmann told BuzzFeed. “The next day she came back with me and it’s been amazing since then.”

Based on Rhea’s Instagram page, which is racking up the followers, we’d agree.

  • I adopted a special needs bird too. They adjust and don’t even know they’re different. Rhea is precious just like my little Oscar or “Oski”. I look forward to seeing more of Rhea growing up. Her pictures are adorable.
