There are all kinds of interactive books for children. Books pop up, have tabs to pull, flaps to lift and various elements to feel. Some books have buttons to push whenever the image shows up amongst the words and once that button is pushed, a sound is heard.
DogChannel recently came across another interactive children’s book. Puzzling Dogs, by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, lets kids take apart and put back together via puzzles the dog images inside the book. Pretty cool, right? It’s almost as though they’re creating the pictures of dogs themselves.
Win this book!
All eight puzzles contain 16 pieces and each is a re-creation of a piece of art found at The Met. Children will not only get to experience the fun of putting the puzzles together, they’ll also be treated to a little history of the artwork and/or artist (“Once, [artist Rosa Bonheur] painted a picture of horses that’s as long as a full-size car!) as well as text that gets kids to engage with the art visually (“A young hunter and his five dogs are resting. Can you find the other hunters?”).
It’s a great interactive book for kids… or for the adult who loves dogs and art. And puzzles.
