A dog found outside of a church in Georgia on Sunday in an extremely emaciated state is, thankfully, now on the road to recovery.
The dog, thought to be about 2 years old and a Boxer mix, was found tied to a fence outside of a Fulton County church, and weighed in at just 28 pounds, 11Alive News in Atlanta reports. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, non-profit group dedicated to saving dogs and cats in north Georgia, has taken in the neglected dog, who has since been named Odysseus, and is nursing him back to health.
The group has been updating its Facebook page with information on Odysseus’s progress. Currently, he seems to be on a feeding plan to help him gain some weight, and he has tested negative for various diseases. But the next few days will be crucial to his recovery.
Odysseus has been taken to an emergency veterinary hospital in Sandy Springs, Georgia, and Angels Among Us is seeking donations to help pay for his care.
Here’s to a speedy recovery for this lovable little guy!
