Rumors have been swirling for years as to when the happy couple, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi, will bring a kid into their life and now they have! Well a dog named “Kid” anyway.
The talk show host announced today that the celebrity duo welcomed in their third rescue dog, an adorable and tiny puppy who is just 9-weeks-old. Kid joins brothers, Wolf and Augie.
Ellen jokes, not just about the dog’s clever name, but also about how much a new puppy is similar to bringing home a new baby. Or at least offers a reminder of just how much work they can be.
She boasts about how cute Kid is but it’s quickly followed by, “but I’ll tell you what’s not cute is to wake up at 11 [p.m.], and 1, and 3, and 5. “And then 5 is when he’s up, up.”
“It really makes me appreciate what it’s like to be a mother, because I’m trying to hold a puppy while I’m trying to make coffee, and I can’t do anything,” she tells the audience. “He doesn’t let me do anything.”
Not forgetting about her current kids, Ellen posted this photo of her and Augie, to Instagram shortly after announcing the new puppy.
Ellen has been a long supporter of animal rescue, and is co-owner to the dog food company HALO for Pets, a company that regularly donates meals to animals in need.
We’re so excited for this growing family of adorable rescue dogs. We wish Kid and family the best of luck!
