With striking looks, the Chinese Crested constantly draws attention, questions, and strong reactions — positive and negative. But owners say that what really makes the breed distinctive is not just appearance, but also an entertaining, affectionate, and beguiling personality.
“My favorite thing is when my dogs put their arms on either side of my neck and hug me as I kiss them,” says Susan T. of Nevada, about her four Chinese Cresteds. “They’re very cat-like dogs. They love to climb and sit on the back of a couch, but they’re perfectly happy to sit on your lap as well.”
