Two Shelter Dogs Rescued After Photo Of Them Hugging Goes Viral

After a photo of two dogs hugging hit the Internet, the bonded pups were rescued, not long before they were scheduled to die.

Witnessing animals form a loving bond of friendship with each other is the kind of miracle that could warm even the coldest of hearts.

When two homeless dogs were photographed hugging in their cage at an animal shelter, the same day they were scheduled to be put to sleep, the Internet community got to work and the two were rescued in two hours and six minutes.

The shelter sent the photo to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue and it shared the photo on its Facebook page. The post detailed the story of Kala and Keira, two dogs who were very scared they would be separated and killed. It also included a plea for shares, donations and help fostering these two loving pups.

The hug photo has more than 16,000 likes and more than 9,000 shares. Two hours and six minutes is all it took for the team to receive the right amount of resources to pull these two out of the shelter and send them on the way to the vet’s office for a checkup.

Now, these two BFFs have been given back their lives. And THAT is the power of the Internet.
