Dog Wins Book Award

Canine is co-author of dog care tome.

Chiclet T. Dog, the canine co-author of “Scared Poopless: The Straight Scoop on Dog Care,” has won the 2006 USABookNews Award for the Best Animal/Pet Care Book.

The award is the dog’s second for the book. In May she and her owner/co-author, Jan Rasmusen, won the Benjamin Franklin Award for Best Health Book, hers being the only dog care book to ever win the Health category.

“Scared Poopless” contains the results of two years of research and interviews with experts, plus anecdotes, trivia and full-color photos. Subjects include anesthesia, vaccination, finding a dog, auto safety and separation anxiety.

The book has been endorsed by Animal Wellness Magazine, animal activist and actress Betty White, nationally renowned veterinarians and numerous animal welfare advocates, as well as Jean Hofve, veterinarian and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association.
