Three months ago, a man was admitted to a hospital in Río Cuarto, Argentina, for an operation. When he walked into the San Antonio de Padua hospital, he was accompanied by his small black and white dog, who stayed in Room 404 with him. Sadly, the man died several days after his surgery, but his grieving dog refuses to leave the hospital.
According to Diario Registrado, hospital staff tried repeatedly to remove the dog from the building but, somehow, he always found his way back to Room 404. After weeks of seeing the dog in the room, the doctors and nurses at San Antonio decided that they might as well adopt him and keep him around as an unofficial mascot.
The dog, who has since been named Pirata, or Pirate, still spends every day wandering around the hospital, looking for his owner. At night, though, Pirate sleeps in the doorway of Room 404. He probably always will.
