When a Minneapolis, Minnesota, couple planned their engagement photos, they picked out the perfect location, complete with soft autumn light and a sprinkling of fallen leaves. They wore jeans and warm sweaters and stared into each other’s eyes, seeing the love reflected there. And then their Dachshund jumped in front of the camera, blocking the romantic moment with his wide-eyed expression and a full-on view of his undercarriage.
Hello world, this is Louie.
Megan Determan and Chris Kluthe had always planned to include 6-year-old Louie in their pictures, according to CBS Minnesota — just maybe not quite like that.
“I knew he was going to be in the shot,” Kluthe told the news station. “I didn’t know he was that much in the shot.”
Photographer Karin Berdal might not have gotten the picture she wanted, but she realized that she’d captured a Hall of Fame photobomb instead.
“I thought it was hysterical off the bat, but I had no idea it would become what it’s become,” Karin told CBS Minnesota of Louie’s now-viral status.
Berdal did manage to snap a few pics where Louie sat politely or rested quietly in Determan’s lap, but we know which one they’re probably going to frame. Louie knows it, too.
