Cobalt is a relatively new company in the aquatics industry, and the Cobalt Submersible Pump and Powerhead is one line of products that this company offers.
Cobalt Aquatics claims that the Cobalt Submersible Pump and Powerhead is an efficient, simple way to move water around in an aquarium.
The Cobalt Submersible Pump and Powerhead is a well-established technology. To test it, I simply installed it in a 120-gallon marine tank and ran it as one of four water movement devices I have on two wavemaker setups. I ran it for six weeks. I tested the MJ 1200 model. There are also 900, 600 and 400 models available (the number denotes the maximum flow in liters per hour).
The Cobalt Submersible Pump and Powerhead performed perfectly. There is nothing particularly new about the Cobalt Submersible Pump and Powerhead; it is similar to other powerheads that have been workhorses for the hobby for many years.
I strongly recommend the Cobalt Submersible Pump and Powerhead in whatever is the appropriate size (400 to 1200 lph) for your tank. It is a simple, sturdy and reliable way to move water in an aquarium.
