Cincinnati Gets New Cover Dogs

Voters chose two dogs to be featured on the covers of the Cincinnati Bell Directories.

The search for two cover dogs for the upcoming Cincinnati Bell Companion Directories for Hamilton County and Northern Kentucky has come to an end. The winners are Bella, a Pug, and Chaps, a Basset Hound. Bella and Chaps each win a cover on one of the Cincinnati Bell’s two local directories, as well as $1,000 for their owners.

Users of the Cincinnati Bell directories were asked to go online and post photos of their dogs, then vote for the winners. And vote they did – more than 85,000 votes were cast over a two-month period, with Bella earning over 1,400 votes and Chaps collecting almost 2,000 votes. In total, there were over 2,000 entries.

In addition to the top dogs, Bella and Chaps, five weekly winners were selected. Runners-up receive a prize of $250. Their photos, as well as those of the two winners, currently are featured on the Cincinnati Bell website.

“We are very pleased with the community’s response to the Cincinnati Cover Dog Search,” says Mike Webster, manager of the contest. “We’re excited to showcase the winning canines on the cover of our companion directories for the first time, and we look forward to next year’s contest.”
