The latest project for CatChannel.com and CAT FANCY is Cat College, which includes comprehensive courses, each with a short video, to help cat parents learn everything they need to know about cats. (Check out CatChannel.com/CatCollege on Dec. 1 for more details.)
This week we shot our second video for the project. The first shoot was pretty easy — just me talking. This shoot, however, was a bit more challenging: we had five cats participating in the video. We managed to find a few empty offices to use as “green rooms — each complete with a litterbox and food and water.
We, along with our guest lecturer Sandy Robins, started at about 9:30 a.m. with several rehearsals, and the real shooting began at 11.
After Sandy’s course introduction, we were ready for the cats. The old adage “Never work with animals or children” didn’t really apply here. The cats were all very well-behaved (albeit a little confused), although managing editor Annie Shirreffs sustained a few scratches from one of the more skittish cats. But then, she’s gotten worse from her own cats at home, so she didn’t mind too much.
All in all, the shoot went very smoothly, and we’re looking forward to our next one. We’ll keep you posted!
