The Tree House Humane Society asks: Why should dogs have all the fun? The 42-year-old Chicago dog and cat shelter invites the public to join what it’s calling the first-ever Cat Spa Day and Social Sat. Apr. 13, 2013.
Events take place at Chicago Party Animals and include hair and nail treatments, massage for you and your cat and more. The proceeds contribute funds to Tree House Humane Society’s life-saving efforts.
Cats can mingle with fellow felines and owners can peruse goods and services from featured vendors who will “help primp you and kitty with the latest fashions and jewelry for you and your feline,” according to the event’s press release. A pet photographer will capture pictures to commemorate the event.
If you know your cat won’t be up for it, you are still invited to visit the event without him or her. You can even adopt a new cat from the group (although that might be a little cold).
Suggested $25 donation for people and $5 per cat includes one free service for each. A donation bar will serve wine and cocktails, and appetizers and desserts will on hand. The first 25 people get a goodie bag.
Organizers requre cats to have a harness and leash, be in good health, be current with vaccinations and feel comfortable with new people, new environments and other cats.
