The Texas veterinarian who killed a cat with a bow and arrow and bragged about it on Facebook has been found in violation by the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. What that means, exactly for disgraced vet Kristen Lindsey has yet to be fully explained; KXAN reports that more details — including what the violation actually is and what punishment she could face — will be announced in October.

Lindsey was working for a Brenham, Texas veterinary clinic at the time she posted a photo of herself holding the cat’s dead body; she was promptly fired after the picture went viral. In June, a grand jury gave her a “No Bill,” which meant that they decided there was not enough evidence to charge her with a crime.

Lindsey has insisted that the cat was a stray and possibly rabid, but others say that the cat actually belonged to a neighbor.

A Change.org petition demanding that her veterinary license be revoked has more than 28,000 signatures.
