They come from every corner of the globe — from humble beginnings or from generations of canine aristocracy. They sleep in simple baskets, posh dog beds, or on the pillows of the people who adore them, and they hail from small towns and big cities.
They spend their weekends at shows from Miami to Spokane, Wash., prancing for the judges. As they pass each test, earn points, and gain a championship, they stir a hope against hope: to make it to New York City for the dog show of all dog shows, the golden ticket to fame.
For those who get there, each will compete against others of their breed in the ultimate audition. Which dog will be the best? Earn the ultimate honor of Best in Show? Become America’s next canine idol?
Dim the lights. Turn up the neon. Bring on the dazzle. This is American Idol: Westminster Edition!
