Biologist’s View on the Future of Bird Conservation

BirdChannel sat down with Carl Jones, a conservation biologist with the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, to ask his thoughts on the future of bird conservation.

At the Parrots International Symposium, held June 21 to 22 in Long Beach, California, Carl Jones gave a talk entitled, “Echos in the Forest: The Rescue of a Critically Endangered Species, the echo parakeet Psittacula eques and its long-term conservation management.” Jones has worked on the island of Mauritius since 1979 as a  conservation biologist, helping avian species that had populations of 12 birds or less recover. BirdChannel sat down with Jones to ask his thoughts on the future of bird conservation.
