‘Bachelor’ Contestant Helps Homeless Dogs

Houston socialite makes a difference in animals’ lives.

Viewers of the latest season of ABC’s “The Bachelor” probably remember Erica Rose, the 23-year-old Houston socialite who competed with 26 other eligible bachelorettes to win the heart of Prince Lorenzo Borghese in Rome. Settling for nothing less than what her high standards allow, Rose made a prominent presence on the show that won’t be soon forgotten.

But what people may not know is that Rose is a dog lover and avid supporter of dog related charities. Most recently, Rose participated in the 1st annual Bow Wow Beverly Hills Pet Adoption Fashion Show this past December.

Hosted by Two Rodeo and Tiffany & Co., the event encouraged consumers to adopt orphaned pets during the holiday season. Thanks to Rose and her power of persuasion, there is now one less dog without a home. Precious, a Chihuahua found by the Amanda Foundation, was adopted at the event as she was walked down the runway by Rose.

“I’m so happy I could help Precious find a home,” Rose says. As tempted as she was to adopt Precious herself, for now, she’s busy and content with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Shayna who travels with Rose everywhere she goes.

In addition to her active involvement in several other animal welfare organizations, Rose is now the designer of her own high-end line of jeweled tiaras, labeled T-Erica.
