Actress and Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day made her “Hairspray” debut on Broadway last month with 52 friends and family in attendance – aincluding her dog, Maltese Ginger.
In a dressing room before the show, O’Day showed off the dog, who was dressed in a pink wig and doggie cape accessorized with various “Hairspray”-themed trinkets, to visiting reporters.
The former “Making the Band” star earned several good reviews for her debut at the Neil Simon Theater as Amber Von Tussle, whom she plays opposite onstage love interest – and fellow “Making the Band” alum – Ashley Parker Angel.
Meanwhile, the New York Post’s Page Six reports that O’Day was seen last Saturday at a party at the Bridgehampton, N.Y., mansion rented by MySpace co-founder Chris De Wolfe, where O’Day reportedly gave sips of Perrier Jouet champagne to Ginger, who had been tinted pink to match the tutu the dog was wearing.
“I’ll do anything to make my dog famous,” O’Day told the Post.
