ASPCA Sponsors Cat, Dog Photo Contest

The organization seeks photos of childhood pets for the "My Furry Valentine” contest.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals encourages cat and dog lovers to submit photos of their furry friends to the “My Furry Valentine” online photo contest. From Feb. 1 to Feb. 29, 2008, the ASPCA will accept photos of pet owners’ beloved cats and dogs.

“Celebrating the important and lasting bonds we have with our pets is only natural during this love-filled time of the year,” said Ed Sayres, ASPCA president and CEO. “And while caring for and loving animals is important all year long, this photo contest is a great way to show how much we appreciate those special four-legged friends in our lives.”

Pet owners are encouraged to submit photos of Suggested photos include childhood pets or the first four-legged members of your family.

Official entry rules and forms can be found at the ASPCA’s website. Ten winners will receive an ASPCA prize pack, with the winning photos featured on the website. Winners will be announced in March.
