Artist Reimagines Marvel Universe Characters as Dogs

Finally someone has combined two of my favorites things: Marvel Comics and dogs!

Illustrator Josh Lynch, in what appears to be an attempt to become my favorite person in the world despite probably never having heard my name, has cleverly matched some of Marvels most famous superheroes with dogs whose personalities match the character. He calls these pieces “Dogs of the Marvel Universe”.

Pug Spiderman

Here is a pug as Spider-Man…I guess his secret identity is Peter Barker?

 Pug M.O.D.O.K.

Another pug! This one is M.O.D.O.K., a villain you might not be familiar with if you have only seen the Marvel movies. In the comics he is part computer and part human, has psionic powers and has an exceptional ability to calculate probabilities. In this drawing, he is part dog instead of part human and probably calculating the probability of being able to catch that tennis ball.

 Iron Man Chihuahua

Here we have a Chihuahua who is feeling cool as a cucumber. And why shouldn’t he? He’s dressed up as Marvel’s coolest character, Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man. If you know anything about Iron Man, you know that he is kept alive by the glowing Arc Reactor seen on the front of his armor. I’m guessing in the Canine Marvel Universe it would be called…the Bark Reactor?

 Frenchie Wolverine

Here’s a Frenchie dressed up as Wolverine. My French Bulldog would probably be happy to hear the mask and shirt but I can tell you right now that he would hate to wear those booties. Also, he is not much of a smoker or a drinker so I guess this Halloween costume would not work at all for him. By the way, never allow your dog to smoke or drink.

 Mr. Fantastic Daschund

OK this one is just perfect. Mr. Fantastic is the leader of the Fantastic Four who, after being bombarded with cosmic radiation, gained the ability to stretch his body into any shape he desired. What better breed to match to Mr. Fantastic than the longest dog I know, the Dachshund.
