We all love it when our dogs lick our faces. Some dogs have absolutely no issue getting up and planting wet kisses all over our faces. Others, not so much.
Actor David Duchovny is seemingly new to getting licks from his rescue dog, Brick, but that hasn’t stopped him from issuing a challenge to his followers on social media and the public via the #LickMyFace challenge on Crowdrise.
As part of the challenge, participants post a video of their dog licking their face on social media, such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, with the hashtags #lickmyface and #targetzero and then challenge others to do the same. For every lick received, participants are supposed to donate at least $1 to Target Zero, a non-profit organization that teaches shelters across the United States on how to reach “zero kill.” Zero kill, aka no kill, is defined as 90 percent or more of cats and dogs getting out of a city’s shelters safely.
In his own challenge video, which was uploaded YouTube, Duchovny covers his face in peanut butter so his dog Brick would be enticed to lick his face. Brick at first seems uninterested, but then licks the “X-Files” star’s face 47 times before the clip ends.
“To really get this going I challenge all of you: my social media followers and Téa Leoni. I challenge Gillian Anderson to do the LickMyFace Challenge,” Duchovny said in the video. “Grab your animal if you have a dog, if you have cat, seems a little strange but you can go for it. I’ve thrown down the challenge, you must accept now.”
