A Feast for the Eyes

The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship is a show like no other.

For dog lovers, it’s a virtual feast to attend the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, held last December at the Long Beach, Calif., Convention and Entertainment Center.

Agility is tempting because you can see American Kennel Club breeds of every size and description performing like Olympic athletes. The discipline of the obedience competition upstairs beckons as well. The conformation rings win out, though, for the chance to see a dozen or two or three of a single breed, every dog a champion.

Here we give you a taste of the show, perhaps enticing you to head to Orlando, Fla., in December for the next one.
