Grammy-award-winning singer and songwriter Miranda Lambert has been helping stray animals since she was 3 years old, when she rescued a dog named Ruby along with two kittens.
25 years and more than 20 adopted animals later, Lambert continues to improve the lives of homeless animals through her annual Cause for the Paws benefit, now in its fourth year.
Cause for the Paws has raised over $400,000 for animal-related charities and is part of the many fundraising activities of Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation, formed in 2008. Her foundation has raised more than half a million dollars through annual concerts, direct donations, and other fundraising mechanisms for East Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma Animal Shelters.
This year’s Cause for the Paws benefit will take place in Lambert’s hometown of Tyler, Texas, on April 30.
“Bringing our event to downtown Tyler is really exciting for me,” said Lambert. “It’s a worthwhile cause not only for our hometown area – I’m hoping the funds and awareness can help many other shelters and animals who need a loving home.”
The event will feature Lambert, along with special guests Stoney LaRue, Josh Kelley and Bri Bagwell.
“I appreciate the fans’ support for the past three years, and I look forward to seeing everyone come out again this year,” said Lambert. “Together, we are making a difference.”
